This subsection contains posts I wrote during the Great Covid Scamdemic of the early 2020s. As you will see, I was very angry and sarcastic about what was going on, and wrote about it in a white-hot fury. I’m still angry about what happened (and is still going on), but the fury has died down.
Science Is Real Propaganda
There’s a lawn sign that I see on my regular walks through the rural outskirts of our little town here in Virtuous Vermont: A Nice Person could hardly dare to disagree with any of the noble sentiments expressed so eloquently on this sign. I must not be a very nice person, therefore, because I now see parts of this sign as a reality-denying virtue signal. In particular, the slogans “SCIENCE IS REAL” and “KINDNESS IS EVERYTHING” were certainly belied by the actions of ordinary lawn-sign-owning Good Citizens over the last three-plus years.

We're hiring!
For a while now (ever since the scamdemic started in Spring 2020) I’ve noticed two trends here in Vermont: skyrocketing housing costs, and understaffed businesses. Something happened to service businesses that managed to survive lockdowns. Many businesses have reduced hours, car repair shops have very long waiting lists, courts have a five-month backlog of cases, and there are “We’re hiring!” signs everywhere. Are people out sick a lot more now?

The Rise of the New Normal Reich
I’m going to promote another book today: The Rise of the New Normal Reich, by C. J. Hopkins. Please order the book now, but note that it has been banned by Amazon in Germany, Austria, and The Netherlands. It’s all the more urgent to buy this book now, because Hopkins, who lives in Germany, is now under criminal investigation in Berlin. Hopkins’ supposed crime was tweeting the cover of his excellent book, which features a surgical mask overlaid faintly by a Nazi swastika. I have a copy of this book, and it is a fierce denunciation of fascism and totalitarianism in all of its forms. Apparently the Berlin State Prosecutor has not read the book, and hence does not appreciate the irony that this prosecution proves the point of the book.

We at the Ministry of Truthiness are very proud of the propaganda we’ve been dispensing over the last three years, and we’re proud of all you right-thinkers for helping us to spread it. Oppositional Science
I would like to call attention to the writings of Brian Mowrey. I see Mowrey as a kind of “skeptics’ skeptic”. He is avowedly opposed to the mRNA shots, but is on a mission to correct the mistakes of others who are also opposed to these shots. Two Minutes Hate

Masks in Retreat
(Sarcasm is OFF for this post.) A couple of weeks ago I reported about my experiences dealing with mask mandates in medical clinics associated with Northern Vermont Regional Hospital. Back then, the various buildings in that conglomerate required masks, but had varying levels of enforcement. I was pleased to discover three days ago that the mask mandates have been dropped at this fine institution of allopathic medicine, though of course there are still signs on all the entry doors encouraging the use of the ineffectual and harmful face diapers.
